CARIBBEAN Love Now JAMATHON is now scheduled to take place at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew on Wednesday, November 22.
“We are moved to help the people affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria and this has galvanised many in the music industry. We now have a movement that’s natural, and given the heightened level of interest, we knew we had to raise the bar. That’s why we are now moving to the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston’s best venue for the kind of production we want to deliver,” said Joe Bogdanovich, conceptualiser of Caribbean Love Now initiative.
The concert was initially billed for Red Stripe Oval on Spanish Town Road in Kingston.
Bogdanovich said the change in venue was made possible with the support of Olivia Grange, minister of culture, gender affairs, entertainment and sport.
“There is no doubt that Minister Grange has a very sharp instinct for the kind of work we want to do with Caribbean Love Now. The concert event can have regional and global impact. We appreciate the minister’s contribution in helping to make this happen,” said Bogdanovich.
Proceeds from the concert will go to the countries affected by the recent passage of hurricanes.
The show’s line-up includes: Agent Sasco, Beenie Man, Blvck H3ro, Beres Hammond, Bunji Garlin, Bunny Wailer, Carlene Davis, Chino McGregor, Christopher Martin; D-Major, Devin Di Dakta; Etana, Fay-Ann Lyons, Freddie McGrego, Jah Cure, Jesse Royal, Kevin Downswell, Naomi Cowan, Nesbeth, Protoje, Raging Fyah, Romain Virgo, Sizzla, Sean Paul & Chi-Ching Ching, Stephen McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Third World, Tommy Lee Sparta, Toots and the Maytals and Vegas, backed by the All-Star Reggae Band led by Dean Fraser.
